What to eat in #Perth

Hello Everyone! I know i have shared this on my Instagram account weeks ago. But i guess it wouldn’t hurt if i share these as one of my blogpost too! haha.. So today, i’m gonna share with you on what to eat in Perth!

Apparently this quiet town have a lot good food to offer. My friend said the trend has been changing quite tremendously.  Ten years ago, most people will dine in their own house for dinner and most shops are already closed by 5pm. But today, you have vast varieties of food to choose from from breakfast to supper.

Too bad we only have 3,5 days to spent in this capital of Western Australia. So, here’s are my list to eat when you are in Perth!

1. CIAO ITALIA

This Italian Restaurant has been famous since i dont know when. All my Perth Friends has this Ciao Italia at their top list when it comes to what to eat in Perth. Since they talked about it many times, so we made Ciao Italia as our first stop in Perth.

Ciao Italia has their flagship restaurant at South Perth area that does not accept reservations, but bookings could be made at the newer location in Nedlands. More over the one at South Perth is a little inconvenient if you’re bringing babies. Since my friend brought baby along with the stroller, they said it is more convenient to go to Ciao Italia in Nedlands instead. So we as tourist just follow the locals lead.

And it is indeed the best Italian i’ve had (outside the one in Italia itself of course). As i mentioned on my IG story, everything is literally nice over here.. and everything are meant to be shared, at least for us Asian. haha..

Take Ciao Italia Fettucine for example. It is super nice and  huge and so creamy. I myself cant finished this alone. I love the al dente texture, not soft yet not so hard. it is just perfect. Ciao Italia Fettucine has the combination of marinated tender chicken strips, mushrooms, sundried tomatoes and spring onions, fresh diced tomatoes in a creamy white sauce.

Another two that we ordered as our main dish were wood fired Porcini Pizza and Calamari ala Griglia. Goshhh, im not sure if i were too hungry or everything is just nice here. Ciao Italia Porcini Pizza has generous ammount of prosciutto (Italian dry cured ham), porcini mushroom and a large ammount of mozarella and ricotta cheese.. Ahh, major love for this thin pizza.

The Calamari ala Griglia doesn’t smell fishy as well, which mean they are using fresh seafood. Well, i am quite sensitive towards seafood and had allergies before. But this one feels so fresh and tender. They only grilled it lightly and tossed some lemon juice on top with fresh salad at the side.. *kurang cabe botol aja sih kata aku. ahhaha.. so indo yahh..

And below, as stated! Hands down the best Tiramisu ever! I’ve tried many tiramisu, the one at Da Paolo Singapore that everyone is talking about as well. but this one is super good! Now i know why Ciao Italia is on everyone’s list! You really need to head to Ciao Italia when you’re in Perth! ❤

2. KAILI’S FISH MARKET (FREEMANTLE)

Who’s up for fish and chips by the bay?? Some review said Kaili’s is better, some said Cicerello’s is nicer. Since google review for Kaili’s is higher, we decided to go there. *anak review emang. haha.. It turns out to be a good meal experience for me. All the fried ones definitely a good one. More over when you dip it to their tar tar sauce.

Apparently their mussels are nice too! I’m surprised i can eat mussels. haha.. Cause i had bad experience with mussels and oysters and clams. so i’ve been very picky. But since it’s Freemantle, i guess i have to try, at least one..  and it turns out to be a good one, and i had more than 3 mussels. haha..

3. Viet Hoa

If you’re looking for something soupy in the middle of rainy Perth. I would like to recommend this humble Vietnamese restaurant. They served a good bowl of Phe (Vietnamese noodle) and tasty tender pork chop. Quite feels like a homemade meal with their homey taste.

I guess all food in Australia is served in a generous ammount. So, if you cant eat much like me. It is better to order one first, then decide whether or not to order another portion.

4. Good Fortune Roast Duck House

I am not a big fan of duck. But this one Chinese restaurant is quite popular amongst Asian in Perth. So we decided to give it a try.

We ordered a plate of roast duck, roast pork and BBQ pork along with stir fry long bean and spicy salt and pepper pork ribs.

All are good for me. The least tasty was the duck, since im not a duck person. But me and my friends love their roast pork. Crunchy and tender at the same time. And ohh the fats! Hahaha love the fats. Another homey meal when you are craving for Asian food. As for me, the best Asian food is still Angke Restaurant in Jakarta and Taste Paradise in Singapore.

5. Chocolateria San Churro

I’m always up for churro! Maybe because it’s hard to find a good churros, so im down to try any Churros anywhere.

And apparently this lovely Perth has a wonderful Churros place. It is a little pricy for this one plate of Churros and dips though. But yeah, i guess once in a while won’t hurt. Moreover most meal in Australia is considered pricy.

Their have four dips for us to choose. Golden dips, dark chocolate dips, milk chocolate dips and strawberry dips. Apparently the golden dips has a strong caramel taste. Some love it, but some still prefer the dark chocolate better. The milk chocolate dips is everyone’s favorite, and strawberry dips is the least favorite, eventho I thought it’s not bad. Haha

Well, it’s a must visit when you’re in Perth. It’s a chain dessert place, so you can find it in many place. But we went the one at … cause it’s just right in one lane with Good Fortune Roast Duck restaurant.

6. V Burger

If you love trying out gourmet burgers. V burger is a must try in Perth. They have a wide range of burgers, from the classic ones to unique ones.

We tried three burgers and a lot of side dishes. If you’re a chicken person, you have to try their Chicken Kamikaze. It’s like the gourmet version of McD McSpicy burger. They add soy mirin glaze, fried onion, lettuce, tomato, house aioli & wasabi mayo for the sauce

We love their Madame Truffle. Tender Beef Patty, Grilled Onion, tasty Truffle Aioli, Triple Cheeses and Grilled Mushrooms with extra Bacon! The truffle aioli is the bomb! If you love truffle, this is the perfect burger for you.

Tried out their Sir Bacon too. Which consist of Grilled beef patty, bacon, tomato, lettuce, pickles, onion, cheese, mustard & house burger sauce. For me, it’s a normal beef burger tho. The other 2 is more delicious for me.. hehe

Dont forget to try out their Halloumi bites! I love this fried cheese bites too. Haha. As for other side dishes. It’s normal good for me. But worth the try

Jewel Changi Airport and Shake Shack Singapore Verdict

Singapore evolves too fast. I always feel there’s something new every month in this little red dot, from the insignificant to the one that really catch your attention. I remember how enthusiastic the locals and the tourists are when MBS and garden by the bay first opened back in 2010. Well, it is still Singapore highlights up till today. But, recently Singapore just made a new blow in retail complex attached with the world’s best airport, Changi Airport.

Guess most of you have seen how majestic its SGD 1,7 billion centrepiece is. When i saw it on my social media, i was pretty amazed with the big water fountain inside a shopping mall. Really something that i cannot wait to see.

And i finally made it to see the Rain Vortex – the worlds’ tallest indoor waterfall ever! and indeed it is quite stunning piece in there, i have to agree it feels like you’re entering Cloud Forest in Garden by the bay. But probably i will choose Jewel now. Since you can come for free and sit there to watch the waterfall all day. Haha.. Well, Since i love the sound of rain, and the sound of flowing water, if it’s not too crowded, guess i can sit there whole day, cause it just feels so soothing. and oh, they have light show on the waterfall as well on 7.30 pm, 8.30 pm, 9.30 pm, 10.30 pm and 12.30 pm. Which I didn’t catch cause we have to leave earlier that day.

And yeah, talking about Jewel, guess we can’t skip Shake Shack!

Shake shack is one of the reason why i visited Jewel too! I have been briefed that the q can be so bad, it can take you about 2 hrs only for q-ing (if you come during lunch / dinner time)

So, I was trying my luck that day, came at 3.30pm and hoping the q wouldn’t be that bad. And guess what, me and my friends only q-ed about 30 mins. Yeay! odd hours to the rescue! Hehe. I know 30 mins is still quite long for some people. But hey, i guess it’s normal for a famous restaurant. I mean, you would wait about the same period of time for Paradise Dynasty or Din Tai Fung.

FYI : 1 person can buy up to 5 burgers. So if you come in a group, i guess you can take turn to Q.. hehe

After 30 mins of Q, we finally get to order! And oh.. You can purchase the merchandise too if you love Shake Shack that much. I personally think the luggage tag is cute.. haha

So, I ordered :

– Shack Burger : SGD 9.20

– Cheese Fries : SGD 5.90

– Pandan Shake : SGD 7.80 *exclusively in Singapore outlet only.

After ordering, we will get a beeper and we need to find our seat first. Shake shack Singapore is actually quite big, they have second floor too for the dining area. But it feels a bit cramped, since too many people are dying to Shake Shack Singapore.

The food waiting time is about 15-20 minutes, which considered long for a fast-food restaurant (i think). And, this is my verdict :

Like like likee the Shake Burger (cheese burger). Love the meat that they claimed to be freshly ground 100% Angus beef, very juicy and tender for me, love the texture, and the cheese-melt is just nice to compliment the burger. and ohh the bun it self is very soft and buttery for me. Should get the double patty if you love cheese burger.

and if you like cheese melt, you gonna have Major crush for Shake Shack Cheese Fries. Omoooo, the cheese is just so addictive somehow. I think i can just finish this by myself without sharing.. haha.. A MUST ORDER! cannot be missed! >.<

as for the Pandan Shake with Gula Melaka Crumble, you can just SKIP IT.. a waste of calories and waste of money. i rather get another cheese fries or try out their shroom burger (some it it’s better than the cheese burger). It’s just too sweet, very chendol-ish, too thick to drink as well. i like sweet stuff, but i guess this is just not for me..

Overall, it was a good experience for me in Shake Shack Singapore. Kudos to all the staff who serves us well and fast despite the never ending Q. But, if you’re asking me would you rather Q for another 30 minutes for Shake Shack cheese burger OR have a MCSpicy Chicken Burger from McD without Q-ing ? Guess i’ll pick the later one. hehehe..

So, for those of you who have tried Shake Shack. Let me know what you think. And for those of you who can’t wait to try Shake Shack. Do come in odd hours guys.. hehe.. Meanwhile, have a great week everyone! ❤

Singapore : EarlyBird Cafe

Two weeks ago, i made another impromptu trip to Singapore to settle some stuff. Apparently this running errands to Singapore thingy is getting more frequent. Which sometimes it made me tired, but super happy at the same time.

Well, i think i cant deny that i kinda miss living in this little red dot. =)

During this very short trip, me and my Singapore friends made time to go to this one little cafe to have a heart to heart session. A session that i missed the most. It appears that i am not that open to new people, even though i am quite an extrovert person. Haha

Anyway this cafe is called the ‘Early Bird’ cafe. A cafe that’s located one block away from Bugis MRT station and had a yellow popping colour that you will surely notice. This little nice cafe apparently is very comfortable for catching up, having a sip of afternoon coffee, even work remotely and gazing at the passersby one in a while. I personally love their simple decor, and not that noisy kinda area.

Other than the ambiance, i think they have fascinating menu for brunch / dinner, and heard that the taste is not bad either. But since we already had our lunch, and we just want to hang out a while. We only ordered drinks and their truffle fries. I personally think they have a nice Truffle fries (SGD10), even though i somehow feel the one at PS cafe is nicer, or maybe smell nicer (read : more generous in their truffles oil) hehe.

I ordered their mixed juice (SGD 7) since i wanted to drink healthier things now. The good thing is, all their juices are freshly made. My friend ordered their cold brewed sparkling tea (SGD 6.50) which come in a big bottle that taste weirdly nice for me. And my other friend ordered a glass of hot Mattcha Latte (SGD 5.50) that is really thick which i’m sure all green tea lovers will like it.

BALI : IBAB BALI

Who loves ‘Babi Sambal Matah’ ?? Goshh! As for me, i love it so much! The deep fried pork with the sambal matah makes a good marriage of something that you called ‘Heaven’!

Well, i might be a little bit hyperbolic here, but i do love sambal matah with everything that is deep fried. haha. Anyway, i bet a lot of you already know that one famous warung that sells babi sambal matah in Bali. I always go there to satisfy my sambal matah craving whenever im in Bali. But lately, the pork is getting harder to chew, and getting longer to wait. But i am still willing to wait and eat the spicy sambal matah. guess i’m just a slave for nice sambal. haha.

When i was in Bali last month for my gig, one nice lady said that we have to try IBAB Bali. They have one decent place and nice babi sambal matah too! Since i’m a sucker for sambal matah, me and my hosts from Tehila House Canggu, straight forward went to IBAB Bali right after church service.

And Tadaaa!! Indeed IBAB Bali is one decent place to have your lunch / dinner, even-though it’s a little bit warm since no air-con inside. Oh well, guess a lot of eating place in Bali doesnt have any air-con. haha. Their colourful old windows decoration reminds me of potato head too. But i love their sort of open space concept, high ceiling and the industrial feeling.

Now, let’s go to their menu! We ordered Babi Sambal Matah and Roasted Pork with rice! We love their fried pork with its sambal matah. Love the pork that is very tender and not dried, no porky smell, and love their sambal matah, eventho it’s not that spicy for me.

The roasted pork is nice as well, very tender and has nice portion for one, accompanied with pork satay and pork crakers. But as for me, i’ll still opt for Babi Sambal Matah! >.<

Korean Food Guide : What to eat in Seoul

Hey guys! I just got back from Korea, and gain 2 kg from my 10 days of trip. Gosh! *i am still in denial! I thought all the stairs i took in Korea train stations and all the walk will shed the calories, apparently my intake was still much higher than the output. Haishh.. As i mentioned on my VLOG here, i did not expect much from Korea, since i’m not a K-Pop nor K-Drama fans, and not even a fan of bibimbap. Well, i can eat bibimbap, just not a fan of a bowl full of vegie. Haha.

Anyway, i love doenjang-jjigae (soyabean paste stew) a lot! it is something that i always order when i visit every korean restaurant in Jakarta / Singapore. But apparently most of doenjang-jjigae that ive tried in korea is rather bland. so sad =( Maybe i am that one ‘anak micin’ who loves salty or stronger taste. Haha.. I have tried a lot of korean food within my 4 days of trip in Seoul, But in this post, im just gonna share my favorite! ❤

1. Saemaeul Sikdang (Korean BBQ)

Even tough i don’t really like bibimbap, i like Korean BBQ! Well on additional note, i think i’m more to a BBQ person rather than a shabu-shabu person. We tried one fancy korean bbq named TWO-PLUS KBBQ in Gangnam area before we went for this one. And apparently the fancier one is less nicer than this Saemaeul Sikdang. HAHA. Well, TWO-PLUS BBQ has a very nice aged tenderloin, but the beef tounge is such a flop.

Saemaeul Sikdang can be called a house of pork, since they only served one kind of beef meat. And i have to say all the pork meat here are good! Or maybe i can say that they marinated all the meat nicely, so when you grill the meat, you can still taste the sweet tasty flavour out of that juicy meat. They give plenty for a portion as well, which can fulfil your hungry stomach that wont burn out your wallet. And of all doenjang-jjigae that i’ve tried, this place has the best soyabean paste stew so far. Haha.. It has salty and spicy flavour with tender tofu inside. It’s so my kind of soup.

I learn that they have many outlets around seoul, but we went to their outlet near Sinchon station exit 3. *When you’re out from exit 3, take the second right, and you’ll see many shops on your right side. Just go straight a little bit, and take the first right turn rightaway, you’ll see this restaurant on your right side.

Saemaeul Sikdan (Sinchon Branch)

18-46, Changcheon-dong, Seodaemun-gu, Seoul

2. Sim Seun Tang / Simpson Tang (Budae Jjiage)

I remember i first tried an army stew or Budae Jjigae in a small korean stall in Dhoby Ghaut Cathay, Singapore. I still remember how it looks and taste like, a very nice korean hot pot with a lot of things inside, accompanied with nice soup and instant noodle.

After trying a few army stew in Singapore, i always thought that the soup in an army stew, wouldn’t be that much. But apparently the one that i’ve tried in Sim Seun Tang, is a little bit different. The soup is so plenty, like you’re eating a bowl of ramen. Or Maybe it’s the way they have it here in Korea? Anyone wants to share?

Anyway, this budae jjigae that i tried in Myeongdong area is so nice, love the spicy salty kinda tangy soup based. Guess all ingredients in army stew is the same everywhere else, whereby they put sausage, spam, kimchi, mushroom, ham, and instant noodles. So what makes the different is the soup based. and i think they have a nice soup to slurp during winter times. and if you like korean side-dishes, i have to say they have great side-dished too! love the salted fish and spicy fish-cakes. haha.

You can find this restaurant at the junction of Myeongdong area, just opposite Olive Young. Well, i know the direction dont help much. Haha.. Since myeongdong is full of labyrinth that i myself got confused, and they have a lot of Olive young as well. Anyway, if you see a rather big junction with Citibank and Olive young on the right, this Simpson Tang is on your left building, on the second floor. Sorry guys, but that’s all i can remember. Haha..

Simpson Tang (Myeongdong Branch)

 2-3 Myeongdong 2(i)-ga, Jung-gu, Seoul, South Korea (level 2)

3. Yoogane Dak Galbi

This is a super must try when you’re in Korea! I know they have the same Yoogane brand in Jakarta and Singapore, But you cant miss this one out. The spicy stir-fry chicken mixed with instant noodle is the best! and if you’re a cheese lover, order extra cheese on the side, and dip it with your spicy chicken! Trust me, it tastes like heaven! Haha.

Well, not everything in Yoogane is spicy. So for you who cant take spicy food, you can order half-half with your friends. so, half side of the pan is pure stir-fry chicken, and the other side of the pan is like the pan full of spicy-goodness!

You can choose your carbs, between rice, noodles, sticky noodles, or udon. Since all of us is instant noodle lover, we dont even think when we order the carbs. Instant noodle it is, where-ever we go. Haha.. Anyway, dont wear anything fancy if you’re planning to go to Yoogane Dak Galbi, cause you’ll be out smelly from head to toe.

4. BHC Chicken

Was wondering around what to eat that night in Myeongdong area, and then my friend said that she wants chicken and beer. So we went to this area, where the whole stretch of the street is selling chicken and beer. We took a stroll, and looking around which one worth the try. Apparently they have Chir-Chir on that stretch too, but Super quite on that busy night compared to the other stalls.

So we decided to pick the one with the most people, assuming that place should be nice. and we cannot be more right, BHC is hands-down the best fried chicken after KFC. They have crispy skin outside with the tender juicy chicken inside. And the Sprinkle Chicken flavour is the best! More over if you like salty cheese sprinkle mixed with onion and garlic. Best topping ever!

We just found out that BHC Chicken is a fast food chain in Korea. Trust me, i dont google anything of these beforehand. haha.. I guess, this is the most unprepared trip yet very enjoyable one. Anyway, let’s continue, BHC also have a wide range of flavour to choose from, from just a normal fried chicken, salty, sweet, until the very hot one. You just have to choose which one that you feel like pairing with your full pint of beer!

Other than the sprinkle chicken, we also ordered the boneless spicy chicken. Apparently it was very spicy for the average ones. Well, it is nice too, but we cant take much of that. So, we are sticking to the sprinkle chicken. haha.  Anyway, BHC uses 30 natural ingredients and sunflower oil to flavor and cook the chicken. So, this might be your healthier choice of Fried Chicken. haha

5. Cheong Sujeong

This is another random restaurant that we entered, right after we stroll around Bukchon Hanok Village with our Hanbok. And we are so grateful that we found a gem in the midst of all nice-looking cafes in that area.

My friend ordered mussels bibimbap, and i ordered spicy bbq pork. My friend said she likes the mussels bibimbap so much, and all the side-dishes. Since im not a seafood lover, i dont like this bibimbap at all. And apparently they are very famous for their mussels bibimbap and mussel rice. So if you are a mussel lover, guess you should try out this restaurant when you visit Hanok Village.

On the lighter note,  i love their spicy bbq pork so much! They serve in a very big portion that myself cant finished it at all. luckily my friend helped to eat as well, else i feel so bad to waste such a good food. Love the juiciness of the meat, and the sweet-spicy seasoning! Best spicy-pork bbq so far! Super recommended if you’re around.

Bali : Pork Star Restaurant

Bali always have something new to offer. Sometimes too many new stuffs coming out together that made you confuse on which one to try first. Luckily i have some friends who are staying in this lovely island now, that makes it easier to find good new places to eat and hangout.

When i reached Bali, it was almost 12 o clock in the afternoon. And since me and my friends haven’t had our breakfast yet, We were starving like crazy. So I contacted a good ‘cici’ of mine to recommend what’s good for lunch for 6 hungry people. And she told us to go for Pork Star Restaurant in Seminyak area.

Pork Star is relatively not new though, Since it’s been around there for about 2 years. To be honest, this place is Quite easy to miss out, cause they have a small entrance. So my advise is, drive slowly when you are close by.

We started our meal by their most favorite appetizers (that’s what they say), and that’s what my good friend’s recommended too. So, without any hesitation, we ordered 2 plates of this goodness. *droll

Pork Dynamite (Rp 38,000 / SGD 3,8)

Mozarella cheese wrapped in pork bacon! These 2 crazy goodness in one single bite be like.. ahhhh! Hahaha.. Moreover, they topped it with another melted cheese. For a cheese lover like, these taste like heaven. Haha. But, do enjoy it while it’s still warm.  Else, the cheese will be kinda chewy, and the bacon will be cold and hard. 😦

img_9545

Pork Tongue Sambal Hijau. (Rp 42,000 / SGD 4,2 )

I know this sounds a little bit weird, since i’m sure many of us are more familiar with beef tongue. Well, it tastes like a beef tongue for me, only a bit more firm and thicker. They claimed that they boiled their pork tongue for 6 hours, so it’s kinda tender and easy to eat.  I love the sambal hijau or green chili, not that spicy (at least for me) and it goes right with the boiled pork. Maybe my suggestion will be, to just order a plain steamed rice, rather than the butter rice. The butter rice is not bad, but it is just overwhelming for me to mix strong flavor with another strong taste.

Pork Short Ribs with Hongkong Style Sauce (Rp 58,000 / SGD 5,8)

Juicy and Tender meat, something that is very safe to order if you don’t really like Indonesian spices. I felt the sauce is too sweet for a pork ribs, but for you who love sweet food, it can be your favorite meal over there! This meal is accompanied with french fries too, which i think it can help you to neutralize the sweet hongkong style sauce.

Nasi Campur Pork Star (Rp 48,000 / SGD 4,8)

This is not your typical Bali Nasi Campur, where you have suckling pig set and pork satay. This Nasi campur consist of 4 pork goodness, which is Babi Sambal Matah, Babi Sambal Hijau, Babi Rica-rica and Dendeng that comes with steamed rice. All are good, they cooked the pork well, but my favorite is the Dendeng and sambal hijau. The Dendeng or dried pork is very savoury and the sambal hijau is just so good. Guess i just love green chili. haha.

Truffle Mushroom Pasta (Rp 55,000 / SGD 5,5)

I have to say they have the most random menu. From local pork delicacies to pork ribs, and now pasta. haha. Since there’s a friend of ours who doesn’t eat pork, so she ordered this mushroom pasta with creamy truffle mushroom choice. I thought the pasta will be a bit off. But truth to be told, this pasta is so good! The pasta is al-dente, and the mushroom truffle sauce is so good! this one taste just right, where some of creamy sauce makes you sick if you eat too much.

Overall, we had a good eating experience here! Good food with friendly price.

Bandung Instagramable Cafe

Nowadays, eating experience is much more than just having a nice food or drink. We crave for a nicer way they plate our food, a more comfortable ambiance, a one of a kind concept, exotic food, and of course an instagramable spot. I guess looking for a nice cafe/restaurant has become our lifestyle, without us realizing it.

If you’re a cafe addict, Bandung is a good place for you to go for cafe-hopping. Seems like they have a nice, well-concept cafe in every corner of Bandung. and the good news is, Bandung has much friendlier price than Jakarta! You can expect a Rp 25,000 – Rp 30,000 (SGD 2-3) for a good cup of coffee, and Rp 50,000 – Rp 70,000 (SGD 5-7) for a proper meal in a decent cafe. Whereas in Jakarta, you have to spend at least Rp 40,000 (SGD 4) for a cup of coffee.

Since Bandung have a lot of nice cafe, and we did not have much time. Me and my friends just randomly chose whatever nice cafe that’s nearby. haha.. So, these are our picks of Bandung Instagramable Cafe! Enjoy ❤

1. One-Eighty Coffee

This is definitely one of a kind hang-out place.  They offer you a nice indoor seats with wooden minimalistic ambiance and POOL area with a lot of greeneries for their outdoor setting! Yes, you read it right, when you may normally drink by the pool, at One-Eighty cafe you can have your meal-time IN the POOL, and dip your feet if you want too.

Since we already had our brunch, me and my friends just had some drinks over there, and enjoy the nice ambiance that they offer. A lot of young-moms brought their kids to play in ‘calf-high’ pool as well, which means, don’t forget to bring extra clothes if you’re bringing your kids.

2. Ambrogio Patisserie

Being in one group with Primarasa, the famous bakery in Bandung makes this cafe one step ahead in terms of their patisserie. You can find fancy cakes and patisserie in slightly cheaper price, and of course a taste that is undoubtedly nice.

I am not really familiar with Bandung, but i guess this place is close with some offices. cause this cafe is full with working adults when i was there. But if it’s not, i can see why they are willing to travel all the way here too. Ambrogio has a very decent asian – fusion food, with a very reasonable price. Again, i would say, you wont have these kind of meal below Rp60,000 per person in Jakarta, unless you opt for steak or salmon.

Love their simplicity with industrial feel design, and lush greeneries around! You can explore to the second floor if you want to, there’s a cute cactus corner for your ootd photo session.

3. La Costilla

A nice small cafe with a lot of mexican touch and a little bit of spanish feeling. Guess this is one of the ‘IT’ cafe in Bandung, since i have been seeing a lot of these place in my feeds by some of Jakarta based Influencers. haha.

Heard that the head chef of this cafe is from the famous pork-ribs restaurant, Tony Roma’s, so you can expect a good ribs from this place. But too bad, i had no appetite for ribs at that moment, and ordered a tenderloin steak instead, which has a so-so taste for me. But my other friends said that the have a good pasta though.

But undeniably, they have a few nice instagramable spots. and there’s this yellow popping colour door that reminds me a lot of ‘Coco’ the movie and makes me want to sing ‘Remember me’.

Bangkok ‘Dangerous’ : PETITE AUDREY Review & VLOG (Part 2)

Bangkok itinerary is always full with shopping, and non-stop eating. This time we decided to try one of the must-go-thai-cafe called ‘Petite Audrey’. A cafe where all Thai youngsters and tourists talk about after Greyhound and After you cafe.

We initially wanted to go to the main Audrey cafe at Thonglor, but since we planned to shop at Siam Square and Platinum after that, we thought that going to the one at Siam will safe more time. Even though the one at Thonglor looks much bigger and nicer than it’s branch in Siam.

When we googled about Petite Audrey, some bloggers said that this cafe is inspired by Audrey Hepburn from Breakfast at Tiffany’s. They adopt classic vintage feelings for the decoration, and Thai-western fusion for it’s food. Well, as for me, i love their entrance.

My hungry-face after waking up late and no breakfast. Haha.

Tom Yam Kung spicy herbs with Prawn and Mushroom (220 THB / 9 SGD) – Best gourmet of the day! Love the thin crust pizza, the prawn is not fishy, crunchy, and nice strong tom yum taste. Must try if you visit this place.

Crab Souffle served with Lobster Brandy Sauce ( 340 THB / 14 SGD ) –  Apparently it’s their must try dish, but turned out to be the biggest regret for us. The lobster sauce was so fishy till i couldnt take it. The crab cheese inside the souffle also smells a bit fishy, but much better than the sauce. Maybe the Thai people likes it? or maybe it was just a bad lobster day for us.

Salmon Spinnach Cannelloni (280 THB / 11.50 SGD) – one nice roll of spinach salmon with a lot of cheesee on it. My 2nd favorite after the TomYum pizza.

Spaghetti Dry Claim in Thai Chili Pasta & Basil (170 THB / SGD 7) – Nice al-dente pasta, at least for me. but the clam is a little fishy too for me.. But i still managed to eat this. still a nice plate of pasta for the rest of my friends. =)

Grilled Marinated Pork wrapped in White Noodles ( 170 THB / 7 SGD ) – It feels like a char siew chee cheong fun for me. Tender pork, nice sauce, but has cilantro-ish taste as well. I personally dont like cilantro, but this one is still fine, since it’s not that strong.

Thai Tea Crepe Cake ( 110 THB / 4.50 SGD ) – I always love Thai Tea, i think this layered cake makes a decent cake with thai tea filling and sauce on top of it. Not that fantastic, but still a nice dessert to have. This is one of the must try dessert in Audrey.

Flower Pot Cake ( 125 THB / 5 SGD ) – Available in 16 flavours if im not wrong. They claimed to be the very first pot cake in Bangkok. We thought that we can eat all of it, including the pot. HAHA. So, we tried to cut it.. and when we cant cut the pot, we called the waiter and asked him why we cant cut the pot. HAHA. And he just explained that it’s only a rubber container and cant be eaten. HAHA. Goshhh.. so basically it’s just a fancy cupcakes on a pot. I dont even know why all of us think it can be eaten as well. HAHA. I forgot what cake that we ordered, but i think it’s red velvet cake with cheese filling and buttercream flower on top? Hmmpp..

Overall, Petite Audrey is a nice hangout place for ladies like us who love to sit and talk and try new food. Haha.. Do see my below VLOG if you understand Bahasa! Hehe

Bali : Milu by Nook

Lush green, sun rays, light breeze, a perfect place to rejuvenate your mind and put your mind to ease. The ever-expanding Nook has chose one good place to open up their new sister Restaurant, Milu, on Jalan Pantai Berawa.

Was staying over at my friend’s villa at Canggu, and she asked us for brunch at this lovely place. and, The place does not disappoint at all. Milu by Nook has their famous ‘Nasi Campur’ that you have to try as well. Their Nasi Campur comes in full set, but if you want, you can choose your favorite dishes on your plate too, and they charge you accordingly.

i wasnt in a mood to eat a lot, so i ordered a hearty bowl of Yoghurt and fruits. But the yoghurt wasnt cold enough for me, and tasted a bit blehh. =( But their Nasi Campur and Nasi Goreng is not bad at all. worth the try!

As for me, I love their modern-style interior yet rustic feeling. love the thatch (hay roof) and all the wooden furnitures. Made me want to read some books and sip ice chocolate while looking out to the padi field.

Singapore : Symmetry

Singapore is always a home to me. Even a 6 hours transit in this little red dot country, makes me happy. Haha. Last month, i came to Singapore for some church camps and work-meetings, and decided to spend some time to meet my Indonesian friend, whom i cant seem to have a time to meet in Jakarta itself. It’s still very funny though,  how we both stay in Jakarta, but only managed to have the short catch up in Singapore. Haha. *Guess the perks of staying in Singapore is, we can try to squeeze the time, since there’s no bad traffic.

Anyway, it has been a while since i had my last brunch. and so happy to have it again here in Singapore, a place whereby there’s always a new place to try out. and Finally, we decided to go to small little quirky nice cafe in Bugis area, somewhere in Jalan Kubor, near Haji Lane, called Symmetry.

I love the unfinished wall design, with pop-art decorations. It makes it very hippies and unique. Even though i dont know why they put Jack Skellington outside their cafe. haha.

The food here are a little bit pricy, but i enjoyed all of their dishes. The pasta is thick and chewy. Pork belly is juicy, and not too dry for the aglio olio. And love the sausage on the big breakfast menu, and the fresh juices on the monster mug. Overall is a nice experience over Symmetry.

It’s kinda packed too over the lunch time, so probably you can come for a brunch session for more serene feeling.
